The newest act to burst onto the rap scene and first signee of Jay-Z's Roc Nation, J. Cole of Fayetteville, North Carolina delivers his debut single. Upon hearing his mixtape, The Come Up, Jay-Z instantly signed the emcee to his newest enterprise. Cole who produces and raps, attended school in New York in pursuits of a record deal. On "Lights Please", a simple drum pattern and piano keys back Cole's fluid flow. He speaks of having a girl who just wants to take it to the bedroom, however Cole tries to speak knowledge and educate her, to no avail. Worthy track that puts NC on the map, since the only rapper to blow from there has been Petey Pablo....
